This post reflects my original thoughts on screen cultures from the perspective of history and trauma. My intention is to reflect briefly on academic work on screen cultures and bringing it into a contemporary context. This site will be developed slowly over time. The scope of this theme is vast and it is only possible to offer some comments, reflections and suggestions on further reading. I have written extensively on screen cultures in Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, only a fragment of which has been published. My intention is to bring together some of the more recent writings, particularly on Cambodia, and continue exploration of themes of interest as they arise.
